New Christmas ornaments

I am did a few presents for my dear friends who celebrate Christmas.The pincushion come with a cardboard boxes under them.
I am glued the old music papers on the cardboard rings from two sides
and glued the cardboard circles for the base. The pincushions done from
the velvet with old lase, beads and SRE.

Hello I start a new quilt this week. I see on the Russian forum this beautiful picture of Russian quilter Vera Scherbakova.
I was lived them. I try to do some sketch of the quilt like this but I never ever ever wasn't so good in the planning. So I decided to sew few blocks in different sizes and play with them.
I choose to use a different cottons and linens in natural colors and blended fabrics in old gold, burgundy and olive. Also I want to use a lot of laces, doilies.
You can see few variations of final composition. Please let me know what you like more

Я рeшила сшить квилт по мотивам этого квилта веры Щербаковой. Попытка создать предварительный план не была удачной (Танечка ну не смогла я , не смогла). После многих неудачных попыток я решила сшить несколько разных блоков , размер и форма которых зависят только от имеющихся в наличии кусочков тканей, кружев и салфеток. А потом поиграться со всем этим в сборке. Можете видеть промежуточные результаты и поделиться вашими мнениями. Шторную ленту и вышивку и кружево я хочу добавить после сборки.

Hand quilting

I came back and start to write again. I am finished my physiotherapy and I feel better with my hand. But i was try to sew something this time. I was want to do the quilt like this one.

But I wasn't want the empty parts. So I did two colored strips and put a linen like fabric for borders. I did a hand quilting. I love the hand quilting and I was need a rustic feeling in one corner in my home.I did this quilt in three weeks between my physiotherapy .You can see the big picture if you ill click on the quilt .

Я в конце концов собралась и пошила квилт под вешалку. Собиралась много лет, увидела картинку в книге и заболела. Вс было-бы хорошо но... Во - первых мне не нужно было пустое пространство между полосами, а во-вторых у меня не было достаточно ткани такой расцветки. В конце концов я взяла обивочную ткань и что-то похожее на лен, но нелен. а синтетику от штор. Выбор был не самым лучшим. Оказалось, что ткани тянутся каждая в своем направлении, а цветная еще и дико сыпется. Сейчас я понимаю почему эти образцы из магазина были обоверлочены в отличии от других, но поняла я это только когда начала шить. У меня осталось обсыпков на хорошего размера игольницу. Ставить на флизелин стала, и денег этот квилт таких не стоит и труда. А самое главное - я не люблю жесткость флизелина. В результате сострочила цветные полосы. Они правда не вышли такими неровными и узкими, как в образце, но вполне похожи. А остальной топ собрала вручную, аппликация и стежка тоже ручные. Внутри стоит старый добрый ватин, хорошо выстиранный и ооочень толстый.

Получилось как раз то, что было надо. Под вешалку вписался как родной. я даже не считаю, что были критичные ошибки, просто иначе это был-бы совсем другой квилт.

А сегодня начну новый квилт в салон. интересно. что получится?

Winter block - white tree

I still work on my winter CQ piece. I take a pieces of white T-shirt fabric in different lengths and wrapped them with threads. after this I sewed them into tree shape and wrapped with folded white fabric. I stitched this tree to the block.
Now i need to decide what border i want. if you have any suggestions, please leave me a comment.

My first quilt for international quilt festival

I finished my first quilt. I did this piece for „RĪGAS TEKSTILMOZAĪKA” international quilt festival .That will be on 20-23 August in Riga, Latvia. You can read more here.
This is 12 inch square quilt. I stitched the heart from 3 pieces of different laces and put a different beads on it. I put a piece of folded pink bias ribbon from the same fabric as on border under heart . It was hand quilted.
This piece is a part of group quilt from my Russian forum.

Pincushion swap

I did this pincushion for my Pincushion Summer Swap partner. I stitched this embellished traingle.

I stitched this triangle with pink triangle and put crochet and ribbon flower on. It com out quite big, but I love big pincushion, I never have enough place .

I sew few more pincushions. This one for great lady from Munich( Germany). I was at here place with my small DS this April? and she told me that she don't have any pincushion.
So I stitch a CQ piece in the colors that was matched to here map. I don't did it in the round shape? I just cut it whet it was ready.
When I finished my pincushion I was feel that it still to naked for me and I put few SRE roses. this pincushion ready to go to the mail on Sunday

New life for old doilies

I found this great piece in local thrift shop.I don't know what it was. But I can't left this thing in the shop. It was heavy cotton weaving fabric with great embroidery. The red letters is the couching ( I think) and great delicate crocheting done from swing or tatting threads . But there was few big stains on.

I put a few doilies from my collection on the stains . I put this work in my living room and play with doilies until I was happy with result and 2 days don't changed nothing. I sew doilies with run stitch, I use all founded not finished crocheted pieces and don't cut anything. I love the result and you?

Новая глава о CQ - Embellishments - Украшения.
Украшать работу можно чем угодно. Особый шик это старые вещи - пуговицы, украшения, цветы. У кого. что есть. Не обязательно целое. Любые кусочки кружева. Если есть дырки, то на них можно или что-то пришить сверху или вышить. Главное любмть, то что вы ставите на вашу работу. Особое место вязанные крючком мотивы. ЛЮБЫЕ и в любом состоюнии. Мне писали, что наше вязание в корне отличается по результату от американского. Не знаю. Наверное не видела много американского, но от румынского, венгерского немецкого и голландского не очень. По крайней мере одинаковые работы смотрятся одинаково. Я здесь нашла румынские работы 60-70 годов, по тем же схемам, что я вязала в конце 80-х. (посхемам из югославсокй книги ХА-ХА-ХА). Вообще в те годы схемы переходили из книги в книгу и из страны в страну весьма свободно даже до открытого инета. Любые вещи можно резать под нужный размер. Удобно если вещь повреждена. есть дырки или пятна. Кстати. вязанные крючком или спицами длинные полосы средней и большой ширины (напр. подзоры на кроватях или оборки на нижних юбках) называются кружевом. Более тонкие вещи до 2-3 см окончанием или обтачкой в зависимости от толкования перевода. И где тот подзор у подруги шириной больше 40 см.
Высоко ценятся те украшения. которые вы можете делать сами. Разные фигурки из зиг-зага, цветы и т.д. Если вы еще можете написать МК (tutorial) об этом то все будкт в восторге. См в моих предыдущих сообщениях под Labels - Ric-Rack , tutorial.
Были самые теплые отзывы. Все эти МК с большим удовольствием принимают к публикациям особенно в инет журналы.

Давно обещала рассказать о своих впечатлениях от англоязачного крэйзи.
В английском крэйзи называется Crazy Quilting или сокращенно CQ.
Для удобства так и буду его называть .
Одним из моментов, в которые у меня взяло время войти, это менялки - Swaps.
Меняться можно всем.
1. ОБМЕН ИСХОДНЫМИ МАТЕРИАЛАМИ.
Если вам что-то нужно для работы, то можно попросить нужные вещи у других, предложив в замен что-то свое. Можно принять участие в организованном обмене. Иногда меняют по цветам или по темам. Обычно договариваются о размере пакета и кладут туда все. что надо для создания блока (кусочки тканей. бусы нитки и т.д.) каждый по своему усмотрению и наличию. Главное участвовать в проверенном обмене, тогда точно получите назад посылку. Обычно пакетики маленькие поэтому стоит не дорого. Но нужно быть готовым, что ваш вкус не совпадет с тем что вы получили. Утешайтесь тем, что во-первых порадовали кого-то, а во-вторых иди знай если ему понравилось.
2. ОБМЕН ГОТОВЫМИ РАБОТАМИ (
Можно меняться чем-то готовым, например блоками или изделиями ( напр. подушечки). Великая любовь - обмен сердечками. Никто почти их потом не использует, но меняются регулярно. И все интересуются способами сборки (по бумаге, кроме основы по готовой выкройке и т.д.)
Особый вид обмена Раунд Робин (RR) когда каждый делает часть работы (обычно украшений ) и пересылает дальше. Можно делать шов (в начале строго обговаривают колличество кусочков) можно часть блока (напр. половину).
Здесь нужно быть готовым. что даже если вы опишете все, что вы любите и что нет , то вы получите что-то чего вы совсем не ждали. Приготовесь - каждый работает по своим понятиям и умению. Совсем не обязательно. что вы получите блок выше вашего по уровню, тогда ваш партнер будет учиться у вас.
Я в RR не участвую. В США слишком дорого посылать 6 раз да еще и волноваться дойдет или нет. А в работе по-пол блока участвовала. Первый раз была очень расстроена, но второй получила работу такого качества, что стеснялась за свою, зная, чувство разочарования.
Плюс и огромный - вы видите работу других, показываете себя. и учитесь , учитесь и учитесь.
Организуются менялки один на один, когда вы заранее знаете с кем меняться, или централизованно, когда все высылается организатору а он пересылает другим участникам. Организатору или высылают средства для оплаты (наличные, марки, PayPal) или небольшой подарок. Удобно когда меняешься наборами для шитья. За один раз все посылаешь т.е экономяться время и деньги.
Честно говоря, при всех разочарованиях я осталась в плюсе для себя.
Посмотрела как мыслят другие и научилась больше, чем по всем книжкам вместе взятым.

I start two new projects.
First one is a winter block. I already pieced him, and start to stitch. You can see few fragments below.

And second one is a memory block for my boys Bar Mitzva. I try to used only white, blue and gold colors ( and very small grey color). Because this is the traditional colors. I collect a lot of embellishments for this theme. Now I can wait to see what I can do with all this stash.

I did 2 more works for local craft show. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture before I put my lace and rose and music paper collage under glass. So I am apologising for the poor quality of these images.
The second one is a old doilies and hearts wall hanging.
I use the old doilies as a back ground for hearts. It was the one of the many other projects that I try to do from old crochets. I hope after Passover and spring cleaning i will do more works with old laces and crochets.

My dear dear son (15 year old boy) ask from me to do a CQ pouch for his MP. It was really big surprise for me. I was ask him if he will go with this pouch to school or to handball team. And he told me - YES. So I stitch for him his pouch. Obviously I don't put a lace or beads on. I use the scraps that still after all his closes (when he was small boy). I stitch for him a big quilt last year but I still have a really small pieces.
And most impotent - he already use this pouch.

Hello

This year we have another local craft show. This is the "Women create women"craft show.
I am finished my old work for this show.
If you remember I was start to do the David star CQ. But I was have a hand problem and can't stitsh for few month. When I came back to sitch and did a few tiriangle blocks for the star rays they came out in different style and I don't love it.
But the hexagon block wiyh gold ribbon was very finished for me. So I was did a 4 burgundy triangle CQ blocks for the corners. Add a burgundy borders.I stitched the gold ribbon bitween the birder and the burgundy blocks . Put layer of flanel for the batting.

I am did only plane stitches on the burgundy blocks to keep the balance with havy 3D centre piece.

And you can see my first really big ( 24x27 inch including borders) CQ wallhanging DONE.

I did a new pincusion for my friend. She don't received this yet so I can't told here name.

I was want do bring a bit af happy to here. I found that I don't get my hand back to the stitching , but I was try to do the best as I can.

I did the envelope stile back. So it my be used in few ways.

1. Scissors fob. Just add a few hard things inside.

2. Keyring as it is.

3. Fridge magnet add a magnet to back side pocket.4. And a pincushion.

Lace cleaning

Hello

I cam back. I have had few health issues that don't gone, but I can write few notes.

This time wasn't lost for me. I was check out few sites on Internet and sort all my supplies.

And I found that

1. I have too much laces and buttons for all my life.

2. I need to clean few of my laces.

I found this great old tutorials for lace cleaning . I try them out with and they was great.

You need lace, washing powder ( soap), glass bottle and basin (or any container for soap water bigger then bottle) hot water.

1. Wrap lace around the bottle and stitch the ends together with thread.

2. Put hot water and washing powder (stain remover optional) in the basin and put bottle inside.

3. Waite for few hours. On this stage I was rub lace very gentele with my hand. Rinse lace very well and check them. If you pleased with results let it dry on the bottle , if you not go to the step 1 and do a new soap water.

For few very old and very dirty pieces of hand embroidery I did for 3 days. Change a water 4-5 times. It was worth it. I even wasn't need to irone it.

The holiday is over.

I had a lot of time to play with my lovely buttons. And now I can share with you what I received.

1. I have a lot of those gorgeous black buttons. But I hate a black color.

I put a bit of gold acrylic paint on the button , after two hours I got this beautiful one of a kind button.

2. I found this week in the local story the grab bag with folded roses and strange sparkly embellishments (flowers, butterflies bugs). I was need a roses, so I bought this bag. This things was doing from unknown sparkly stuff on the fabric interface. At home I glued them on the buttons with clear strong glue. (like E600). I try to use a fabric glue for the wrapped buttons but it don't work so well for me.

3. And The lovely last try. I glued the gold foil under clear plastic buttons. I use the foil glue according to the instructions on the bottle. But use the candy foil instead of expensive antic one. If you don't want to put the foil on the block you can sew other button under one with a foil. the hols I did with a toothpick.

It was fun, but I still have to much buttons for me. I will be happy to sell few and get a money for new ones. You can see them on my Flickr. If you want to buy something just leave me a comment , please . And I will answer to you as soon as I can.

Desert pictures

I am finished my Passover cleaning and cam back to Blogging.
During the days before passover I was with my small son in The Ben-Gurion Heritage Institute. It's only 1 hour from my town. And I can't resist before these great landscapes. I love desert and have a beautiful view from my window but this pictures was amazing. I fixed them with Picnik. They are ready for lanscape quilt.

On this one I don't work with Picnik.

I did this ATC for CYBER FYBER, an international exhibition scheduled from January 8th through 20th, 2009 at Gallery 80808, 808 Lady Street in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.

Good news

Hello all

I have a lot of good news.

1. Our municipality received my works for local women's exhibition. I am one of 44 other women in our town museum. Opening is 27 of Marth.

2. I am finished next part of my big CQ. I did all embroidery on the ribbon. It\s take a lot of time, but it's done. I did all kinds of embroidery that I love.

3. I found a lot of my school friends with one Russian site. They still remember me!!!

All of us knows buttons with the shank . It's a problem to keep them in balance .

I use for this a plane plactic buttons. I take a button and remove the center between the hols.I found that 4 hols button are most usable for this.

I take a button, a nail, a candle or gaze cooking panel flame and of course pliers for safety. I fixed a nail in pliers an heat him for 30 - 40 seconds on the flame. After this I melt a button between the hols. I heat my nail at least 4 time for each two hols. It's take a time.

But after this I found that my buttons was from very soft plastic. I took a knife ( you can see his shape on the picture) and put an edge in the hole. I am pressed in the second hole directions . So one side was done. I did it three more time and received those "rings"

There are examples of use. You can put a small button under big one. Before white button it wasAfter under button additional

You can see on the "After" picture that metall button keep a balance . You can put a big button under small metal one for more color combination.( I am use a glod white combination for contrast)

Spring button cleaning

Hello all
I start a spring cleaning for this year. It's early but I start from my buttons. I check my buttons for ATC and fount that lot of them wasn't so pretty that I want.
In one old book I found that I can clean them with pastry from white flour and vinegar.
It's work !!!!
I take a spoon of flour and few drops of vinegar, just to receive a pastry that I can work with. And clean my metal buttons with this pastry . I used a small soft brush. After this I clean my buttons (and other metal things too) with warm water ant dry in soft cloth. They are shining so pretty now. Unfortunately I can take a good pictures.
This cleaning don't clean out a patina .
Pastry still good for work with for long time. (Few hours )

Progress in the work

Hello

thank for all visitors who did a good comments on my work for a craft show, but I wasn't so happy with them. I was need a great WAW effect. I was try more then 20 (!!!!!) different frames and don't get it. So I did something else. I put a blue CQ on the piece of blue upholstery velvet (it hard to see on picture but it was deep blue) and just hide an edges with gold bias ribbon. I put a blue cotton on the back.

For the burgundy I did a border from match color fabric. It's two side folded border. So I just sew the gold cord with run stitch between block and border. Cord still free from the cross points outside. I fixed my block to the back only in this points with few small stitches. So the back side of the block steel invisible and I have a great 3D effect with free cord and free heavy borders of the block.

Unfortunatly I don't found a velvet piece for the last block. I just did a border from a matching color fabric and sew on this old lace.

Do you believe in this I am still waiting for a checking my works. They don't see them jet.

This week we had a great storm with cool wind. i don't go to anywhere and finished sentral block for a David star.

I put organza folded roses , few satin roses in the sentre. Add a lot of organza leafs and a leafs from my second veaves tutorials. It' s hard to see. but it bring a great 3D effect with color plays from olive color of veaving leafs and green color of organza. Arount I stitch a leafs with tifferent colors of green, I did a few leafs from a satin ribbon. The small flowers are folded roses and different stitches roses ( rococo, spider all what I have ).I use a different ribbons in many colors. I pretty happy with a result.

Second needlewoven leaves tutorial

It's take a time wile I published second Needlewoven leaves tutorial .
Today I want to tell you about 3D leaves that you can do without fabrics.
1. Drow the leaf on baking paper as you want and do a points in same distance on the picture. I did only points, you don't need more. You can see throw baking paper so you can make a points easly just put a pictire under paper.
2. Stitch throw paper in next directions
1 and all not even numbers from back side to right site of work .
2 and all even numbers in opposite direction from right to back side.
Remember you must keep free thread about 2 - 3 inch in point number 1. Just press thread to the paper during the first stitch with finger when you pull the tread.
You will received this on the right side
and this one on the back side. You don't have the long stitches on the back side.
3. You thread now in the up corner of the leaf go in and out to the point number 1. Don't stitch throw paper!
4. After this you do woven leaf usual way. Don't stitch throw the paper. I stitch first one side from the central line. So I can use 2 shades of green or take a second piece of the thread. I don't use the long thread. I just add the new tread always in point number 1 and keep a free piece of tread obout 2-3 inch 5. This is almoust finished leaf.You can see the threads on back side of the paper.
6. Pull the paper off . Leaf done !
You can pull the threads throw the fabric with needle or do couching stitches. It's you choise.

Needlewoven leaves tutorial

Hello all.

I don't wroute a lot of time. We had so bad weather. Even a snow event. Yes ! Yes ! Yes! After 8 years we have had a snow event. But one thing we don't had. We don't had enough sun lite for pictures.

Few days ago (Tuesday, February 5, 2008 ) Allison Ann Aller published a post My Work at Point Bonita. After my comments on here Needlewoven leaves she ask me about my tutorials for nedlewoven leaves using baking paper.

I love to do those tiny leaves to, but i love to use a baking paper under them. It's very easy my keep the leaves very flat and do them in the shape that I want.

1. I put a piece of baking paper on the fabric and drew the shape that I want.I use for tutorial the square shape and yarn for best looking.( See right side of the picture.)

After this I stitched the long stitches in one direction. You can do it in the directions that you want. You can do a measures with the rule for equal space between stitches. In this step you draw on the paper not on the fabric. You can stitch in the diagonal directions. After this you do woven leaves usual way. I don't stitch yarn in opposite direction through the fabric. My leaves attached to the fabric only with two sides. I just press them to the paper during the stitching with my finger when I pull the yarn.This is the finished leaf.

2. When the leaf was finished i pull off the acess paper from the stitched to the fabric side.3. Pull the paper off from one more side.

4. Pull off or push out with the scissors all paper (including the paper under leave).5. Finished leave.With the paper you always will receive very flat leaves. because the paper prevent the tightened of the fabric.

I hope you can understand my English. I will accept all suggestions.

Chicken block for my friend Judyth

I have my dear internet friend Judyth . She is great person. She help to all Newbies with a fabric packs and other staff. I was need a threads that I can't get in Israel and she send to me a big, I mean really big box with all kind threads. Now I know all numbers off perle cottons and I can get them according to numbers.
Judyth love the chicken. And I did for her this block.

It was a pattern from Estonian handworks magazine Kasitoo from 1986. Originally it was a childrens room curtaine pattern. I was need to do it smaller. I wasn't really happy with small version until yesterday. But I found that few green stitches and flower beads can work very well.
This block with oher things for Judyth already in the mail.

I tray to do next row of the star. I am even stitched two blocks,but when I try to put them together they was too thick on a seam. So after few days of thinking I decided to do block in one hexagonal ring shape. I do a few drawings and finally I was happy with this shape. I drew this ring in real size including all seam allowance .

I cut this shape from a paper and fixed it with pins on very thin prewashed fabric . I don't do any marks on fabric because I use thin fancy fabrics even chiffon's for this project. But it was easy to see all marks throw thin white fabric. I put all fabrics on and fixed them with thread. I don't stitched them together yet. But I pull out a paper and let to my block rest for few days.

It's help me to keep my work flat. After 2-3 days all thin pieces get they shape and I can fixed all waves and get my block very flat. I use a lot of chiffon's and stretch fabrics (like velveteen here). Today I have this block done.

When my big block rest I start to do a little hearts . I do 3 of them. They are only 2 inch.New day will be tomorrow and new stitching.

Central piece - work in progress.

I am working on central piece. All the seams on the center piece are covered now. I did a regular plane stitches here. I tooke a different colors of treads, because I try to blend colors of fabrics and threads together. I don't want to put any other embellishment yet. I want to sew all beige central piece and after this I'll decide what to do . I want ( for now) put here a flowers. My be a 3D flowers from different kinds of ribbons and Ric-Rack.

Tomorrow I'll do a scheme for last part of central piece. But mostly I must to found way to sew all blocks together and keep my work very flat.

Happy New Year ! We are in 2008 now.

All holidays are gone Hanuka, Christmas, New Year and this is the time to new beginnings.

The start of new project is the hard part of the work for me. I don't have an Unfinished Objects (UFO) I have only Unstarted Objects (USO). Few times ago I found in Internet picture of beautiful Japanese CQ . This is not high quality picture, but a found a few close up from here and I start this CQ. I don't believe that I do this. I can't do exactly this one. But I can do something in this colors and shapes. I am really want a wall hanging with David Star for my living room.

I start from central hexagonal block. I collect all beige color fabrics that i have. My thanks to my dear friend Judyth for beautiful fabrics that she sent to me.

I drew hexagonal shape on the white paper and put all fabrics with pins on.

This is the back side of block.

Next step, I pull out all paper and put my block on very thin fabric and stitch all pieces by hand.

Now I will do a seam treatments on each seam. I 'll published the new pistures when I'll be able to take a good quality picture. I hope it will be tomorrow. I am really enjoy of this poject.

Second Ric-Rack flower tutorial

1. I take a piece of Ric-Rack ribbon and pull strong tread throw the ribbon. I am pull the thread twice in each corner

first - from back side to right side of each corner

second - from right to back side.

2. After this I pull the thread tightly as I can, roll up Ric-Rack in circle ,hide an edges under the flower and sew flower onto fabric.
3. I put a bead in the center . I stitch all leafs to the fabric. It fixed the shape of flower very well. After this I am add a few green leafs.

My dear dear friend Judyth received my crocheted motifs. She loved them!! I was so happy. I do for her not only motifs that you see in my previous post. I also do a few small flowers from regular sewing threads. You can see them in the right bottom corner.

This picture Judith put on the Crazy Quilting for Newbies list. All my list friends loved them and my friend Susan remind me about embroidered trims that I did. I am completely forgot about them. I forgot about my little Cameos too.

If you want them - ask me. I'll happy to sell them for you.

New crazy project finished

This weekend I worked on another CQ project. I stitched the the piece of CQ. It wasn't regular block. I do it in circle segment shape. I used a natural shades of color. I never don't used only this shades before and want to try them.

After this I embellished it and stitch 2 straight sides together. I hided a stitch under a piece of lace and sewed a circle bottom. This is the three sides of finished shape.

I don't know what the name of this thing but I love it! I think I can call it a Christmas ornament or just ornament.

If you have any idea let me know what it is.

I love this ornament so much and my family too that I do 2 more in other stile.

I used my buttons. There are ordinary buttons. I like then and can't call them bored. They are not!

I had a pleasure when I do them. Now I must to find a place for them. My be I'll Put them on my DaWanda shop for sale.

I love to do things. not to keep them.

Ric-Rack owl tutorial

1. I am take a small piece of white Ric-Rack ribbon and paint him with regular fabric paint. I paint two sides in the same brown color.

2. After paint was dry a fixed it with hot iron.

3. I fold ribbon according to white line and twist it down to receive this shape.

4. I sewed it on the fabric with small stitches.

5. You can do an eye with a bead or do any other stitches . I stitched a nose and legs.

Ric-Rack fish tutorial

I want to share with you today this Ric-Rack fish tutorial.

1. I am take a small piece of white Ric-Rack ribbon and paint him with regular fabric paint.
I choose blue and yellow for contrast.

2. After paint was dry a fixed it with hot iron.

3. I fold ribbon on white (unpainted) side and and do a few small stitches according to red line. ( I did them with red thread only for contrast picture).

4. I opened Ric-Rack ribbon on color side. Pressed it and stitched a small eye.

5. I sewed it on the fabric with small like a fin stitches.

6. You can do an eye with a bead or do any other stitches for fin. You can stitch other tail.

Now I am start a new project. I do a Christmas ornaments.

My family not a Christian. We have a Hanuka in this time. Many years ago, when I was live in Ukraine we was celebrated a New Year. It wasn't religion holiday, but we had a beautiful fair tree. I did a lot of hand made decorations. I am so liked to do them, I am like to do Christmas decorations now. I recalled my childhood. And I am pleased to received a feed backs from other people. Last year one lady bouth a full box of my Christmas bals for charity bazar. She sent to
me so god letter, she was really happy.

Because I can't use this decorations I sell them. For this money I can buy a supplies for my other hand works.

Hello

I don't write for a time. I did a new project.

I am never can't found my glasses between all similar glass cases that we have. I decided to do something special for me.

I did a 6" CQ block.

After this I an add a two pieces of folded fabric on the top, flannel fabric for lining and stitch three sides around from the wrong side of the block.

And i received this.

I am going to be a published!

It was a great project in one of my groups - Faber Art Traders. We did and embelished 1.5 inches squares (We call them Plus Size Inchies - PSI). We create them in batches of 24, based on different colors and swap them with other group members . This trade consisted of 120 sign-ups, at 24 each that’s 2,880 Inchies. The list mum Normajean Brevik help to us become published in August/September 2007 Issue of Quilting Arts Magazine®.

Only one thing in this story is really sad - I can get this magazine in Israel and see this publication.

Last weekend I was really busy. I take my old books and treads and have a lot of fun.

I feel like a small girl that I was when I learned crocheting. You can see what I get.

FIRST BIG PROJECT FINISHED !!!!!!

I finished my first big projects. I was need a wall hanging to hide electricity board. I had a bed cover that I do more than 10 years ago for children's bed.
But now it was to shirt for me and wasn't in right direction.

I decided to get out a panel with a trees. Add few stitches and beads and stitch it back in right directions (turn on 90

degrees). Also I decided to put crocheted motifs in different

places to do it more interesting.
But after I turn it it steel to short . I don't want to

sew more panels to this bed cover. I do a new separate

wall hanging. I had two printed panels, they was same

pictures in different colors. And I don't like one of

them (left on a picture). It was so blend. I do
with this panels the same treatment that I do with first

panel.

Finally you can see what I have now.
